Obscure but still relevant

I'm going to New York City next week, and I'm into 70's music. Where might I go to find some obscure 70's artists who perhaps are still playing in clubs in the area?

A great kind of answer would be, "Stephen Bishop sometimes plays at the Blue Cloud Lounge on Wednesday nights" or "You should check out David Gates at the Velvet Urn". I don't care how obscure the person, or how out of the way the venue.

Best answer: Well I can't speak of any performances, but this should help you out to make your own searches in the area. You can search via city, venue or artist.

Maybe not obscure, but Ashford and Simpson own a bar in New York that has an open mic night on Thursdays.
