Evil, evil c5.zedo

C5.zedo keeps opening tabs on Firefox and redirecting me to poker sites! I've run Sophos and Ad-Aware and the problem keeps continuing. Has anyone managed to get rid of zedo?

Best answer: I don't have any personal experience with C5.zedo (knock on wood), but Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has fixed every malware problem I've ever had. A quick search indicates that it has fixed the problem for others. Good luck.

Try Malwarebyes Anti-Malware.

If that doesn't work for you, a complete wipe & restore may be in order.

I'm sorry to say this, but I recommend a wipe and restore as well, if you have a good backup of your data or the means to set one up. It's inconvenient, but some malware is really hard to remove, and it often just opens the door for more harmful malware to get in. However, I've never tried Malware Bytes, and I tend to be overly paranoid about data security.

I use Malwarebytes and occasionally run Hijack This to try and remove really pesky things.
