Word 2007: Linked Object Woes

Word 2007 on Vista: Document contains a linked object (of another document) but is only showing the first page of linked document.
I have a document "resume.docx" which is composed of 2 pages of formatted text. I am now attempting to create a new document "resume_with_cover_letter.docx" which will be composed of a cover letter (1 page - I will type this up in the document "resume_with_cover_letter.docx" itself ) and a linked object, which points to "resume.docx".
The problem is, when i do this, word is only displaying the first page of the "resume.docx". How do i get word to show me both pages of "resume.docx" each on an individual page.
