Low-key New Years Eve parties in Hollywood?

2 girls want to have a low-key, fun New Years in the Hollywood area. We're avoiding all the Super-Mega-Parties and would rather not pay a cover over $25. Does anyone know of any bars doing something fun?

Right now we're thinking of going to the Cat and Fiddle, but I was curious if anyone knew of a NYE party at a bar or lounge that might be fun. We live in the Hollywood area and would prefer taking cabs all night and ending up back in our beds in the wee hours.

I'm not sure if the Cat and Fiddle will be fun or not tomorrow. I've gone on many major holidays and had a blast but not NYE. I CAN tell you that the wait for a cab to arrive on NYE in Hollywood is excruciatingly long. I mean, 2-hours-long after calling.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I just wanted you to make sure and budget your time when calling a cab in case you didn't know.

As for me, I'll be in Laurel Canyon playing scrabble and drinking my weight in champagne like an old lady.
