Do Marvel or DC Give Tours?

Does anyone know if it's possible to take a tour of the Marvel or DC Comics offices/studios in NYC?
I had a roommate that worked at Marvel, and I never remember him mentioning people coming in for tours (he was there for 6 years). Preliminary googling seems to suggest it happens, but is pretty rare. Call the numbers wile e listed, it really can't hurt!

I have a vague recollection, from some time back, of trying Marvel, whom I love so dearly, and getting an emphatic No. Please let us know if you find out anything.

A few years back when I was in NY I took a look at the street addresses - nothing much to see from the outside I'm afraid.

According to this post, the answer at Marvel is no. Waaaaaay back in the '80s I got to go on a tour of Marvel and it was just a regular office like any other. Nothing special to see or do. I got some free comic books, though. Hey, thanks for reminding me of my childhood trips to NYC with my dad!

DC is a big fat no also, unless you actually know someone who works there. This I know from a friend who used to be an inker there a few years back.

have a friend that currently works at DC—the answer for both is, as cazoo says, not unless you know someone that works there. if they said yes to every request for a tour, they wouldn't be able to get any work done ever! we're talking about cramped midtown manhattan office buildings here, after all.

My mother was able to wangle a tour of Marvel in the 80's for my brother, a big fan, by saying that she was the sister of (insert name of Marvel editor here). As it happened, her brother does have the same name as that Marvel editor, so it was not strictly untrue, and when the editor came out to visit, he was charmed enough at her chutzpah that he gave my brother a tour anyway.

Response by poster: Thanks for the answers. I was looking forward to punching Bendis or Quesada or JMS or DiDio or all of the above in the face while I'm in NYC next week. Oh well.
