How to take a Kindle screenshot?

How do you take a screenshot on the Kindle? I know the keystroke, but can't find the screenshot file anywhere.
I have found Igor's description that says that Alt-Shift-G is the keystroke, and "due to an implementation bug, screenshots can only be stored on SD card, not the main storage. A gif file is saved in the card root." But that's all the documentation I can find online.
I dutifully inserted an SD card, took a screenshot, and then put the SD card into a camera to download the image into the computer... but iPhoto found no images on the card. Am I doing something wrong, missing a step, ...?

Best answer: Did you open the SD card on your desktop and look at the files on it? iPhoto's automatic transfer is only going to be looking for photos in the folders where your camera would put them.
If your camera doesn't mount the card on your desktop, consider getting a USB card reader which will. They're only a few bucks and they'll save wear & tear (not to mention battery life) on your camera. The card reader will still work in iPhoto the same way you're used to.
