Short story about hippies bringing it all down from the inside

I'm trying to find a short story I read awhile back. 1960s-era student radicals infiltrated the Establishment to bring it down from the inside. Decades later on the eve of their impending success they....
...are old, tired, no longer sure of themselves, and possibly a bit too comfortable with the trappings of what they wanted to destroy. The power goes out as things fall apart and they think about what to do now they've won. Does this ring a bell for anyone? I know this sounds like an earlier AskMe post I AskedYall but they are *definitely* different works.

In the meantime, see if you can find a short film called "Leon's Case" (a parody of Willa Cather's "Paul's Case"), about a 60's radical a few years later. Caution: SPOILER HERE
Also the novel Vida by Marge Piercy.
