Set as homepage?

Is there a way to include a "Set as your homepage" link in a web page nowadays?

Cross browser/platform is nice, but Windows IE 6 & 7 would suffice.

According to this it's no longer possible with IE7. That method should work with IE6. Firefox, not sure, you'd have to try it or look around.
