GOOGLE buries the most important story of the day?!

For as long as I can remember, I've quickly checked the major market indices by going to Google -> News -> Business, and checking the "Market Summary" in the top right corner. This morning and afternoon, it was mysteriously absent, replaced by a "Featured Video of the Day". Where did it go?
I understand the reasoning --- --- hiding the bad news from the panicky public for as long as possible. Clearly GOOG would like to take a slot in the DJIA now that a couple others are getting booted out. It's money, it's politics, it's fishy.
My question is, where should I go to get the bulk of the juicy gossip about today's magical phenomenon? Perhaps we can discuss it right here. Ethical, moral, logical, accidental? Was GOOG hacked?!? Which higher-up forced some code-flunky to do this today? Where is the _real_ story behind this being discussed?

Right there in the upper right for me too, where it normally is.

Maybe they're having issues, because I just got an error message on the "Most Popular" page, but it was resolved when I went back.
(I did enjoy your crazy conspiracy theory though.)

It's there for me too. Looking at the page source, the Market Summary widget is put in the page via an iframe, so it's possible that the widget didn't load in your browser due to traffic or even some technical issue on your end.

I know that they've been having technical issues with their site-specific search for businesses but that doesn't sound related to this. I too like your conspiracy theory better. You could do a google search on 'Alex Jones Infowars' but I'll bet they've blocked that too because they don't want you to know the truth...

I see the market summary right there where you describe it being. Occam's razor and all on this one.

Best answer: When I went to Google News yesterday it had a different site design; today it's back the way it has been. I assume I hit a beta server or something, that's all.

Response by poster: dhartung, why are you and I the only ones who saw this?!?
I'M NOT CRAZY
THE MARKETS WERE IN FREEFALL
AND GOOGLE NEWS BUSINESS HAD CHANGED THEIR PAGE
AND HIDDEN AWAY ALL THE MARKET CHARTS
