Where can I sell vintage clothes in L.A.?

Can you recommend a good place in Los Angeles to sell vintage clothes?

I used to sell vintage stuff all the time in the Bay Area, but haven't yet had the chance to do it down here. Has anyone had experience with particular stores in L.A.? It would be great if they offered a reasonably decent price (though this isn't the most lucrative endeavor) and if the store wasn't a bastion of hipper-than-thou attitude.

Again, I'm looking for places to sell to, rather than buy from.

By vintage, what era do you mean? I'm of the generation that considers vintage to be 1960s and older, in which case it's been my experience that selling on eBay is the way to go. Here in the body-conscious Southland there doesn't seem to be much retail interest in this era of modesty.

If you're one of the young'uns who considers 1970s and 1980s to be vintage, try Wasteland. But yeah, the ones here have the same hipper-than-thou attitude that I found at the one in the Haight - sigh.

(And - if you have any 1940s or 1950s dresses, that aren't *tiny*, that you'd like to sell to a private party - please mefi mail me!)

Would it be too much of a hassle to set up a booth at a flea market, like the Rose Bowl? I remember hitting several markets when I visited LA a few years ago and there was a LOT of vintage clothing. I also went to some yard sales that sold exclusively vintage clothing.

This isn't exactly what you specified, but you could always try out Etsy if you haven't already. Decent prices if you want and no hipper-than-thou attitude.
