Name this plant

Name this (tropical?) plant.

My niece touched the broken off stem of this plant and now has a small rash going. It looks like its fading, but it would be nice know what kind of plant it was so we can at least avoid it in the future.

Best answer: Elephant Ear is the common name for this plant. The milky white sap can cause itching and skin irritations.

They are considered poisonous and may cause death if eaten.
