Seeking perfect sweater

I am looking for a wool or alpaca sweater that is a green similar to the color of the ask metafilter page. Back in 2005 or so, this was a very popular sweater color and I used to own a green cable knit sweater that was perfect. I'm looking for either sweaters that fit the bill or places that sell quality wool/alpaca sweaters to search.

I want it to be more olive toned but still bright. A bright yellow green. But also verging on dark green. Medium green? I like a more yellow toned forest green too. I plan to go to many different sweater/clothing companies sites and filter by color for green though. I am a size small, I usually wear women's but if men's has the right color a men's small or extra small would likely fit.

Try Woolovers (link goes to US site), which has several all-wool sweaters in shades of green. Search for sweaters/jumpers by yarn or fabric ("Pure Wool;" "Pure Lambswool;" "100% Lambswool;" etc.) and color. (Company sells alpaca blankets, not sweaters). Velasca sweaters. Vintage J Crew wool green sweater, new alpaca olive pullover, and a new Aran 100% merino green sweater at Etsy.

It's April, so whichever company sites you visit, check the clearance section.

Best answer: There are a few different greens on the official Aran.com site.

Try theirishstore.com I have purchased two sweaters from them and been very happy.

Best answer: Not at all cheap, but I can attest to how nice they are: Northern Watters sweaters. The "Apple" shade seems close to what you're looking for?

Response by poster: I have remembered that my perfect sweater from the past was from Abercrombie and Fitch (bought used - not a store I shop at new generally so I'd forgotten the brand completely!) I also have similarly cabled sweaters from GAP that were acquired used in a similar era. I think I might be looking for '90s preppy style? The A+F sweater was purchased used in 2002. The GAP sweaters were acquired used in 2008 or so. Not sure if this will help with my quest for a new sweater or not - I liked the not traditional style of cables - it wasn't a standard fisherman's style but it did have interesting cables (alternating between two and three crossings across the whole sweater). No idea if that info will help anyone giving suggestions but I thought I'd share.

Best answer: - bright but close? vintage A&F green wool, size small
same one in medium

- medium, kelly green

- darker, mock neck, awesome pockets

if these aren’t quite right, check mercari, depop, etc. with varying keywords. good luck!

Back in 2014, I bought a men’s lambswool v-neck cardigan (it was when “boyfriend style” was in) from Woolover’s in “Tweed Green”, and it seems they still have that color in some garments. It is the closest match to this green I’ve found.
