Trouble Logging on to Metafilter

Problems with metafilter.
For some reason, I can log into the ask metafilter section but cannot log into the standard metafilter site.
Even after clearing cookies, history, cache... when I login I just get the metafilter site presented to me as if I was not logged in... If I intentionally enter the wrong password I am told that I have errored, but cannot log into metafilter.
This happens using Firefox and IE6. I've even tried computers at friends houses and the same thing happens.
Is this because I close the browser without logging out?
I've never had this happen on another site.

Er, why the two accounts?
Also, this is not the place for this really. MetaTalk (MeTa) is what you're looking for.

Response by poster: So I can flamebait and argue with myself... just kidding
No, I thought maybe the first account was corrupt or something and then signed up for another.
Now that I figured it out, I'll just use the first.
An extra 5 bucks for Matt I guess, and 5 bucks less for me :-(

Not only does
this belong in MeTa under "bugs",
but you really should try take more of a
conservationist's style when posting
anything in the green - or blue or gray for that matter -
or you will annoyingly push an hours' worth of queries into
the archives.
Also, aesthetically it looks quite manic.

Plus,
you should break your posts
into oddly-spaced lines
so it looks
like bad poetry
you'd see on a
Livejournal site.

Additionally, you should never implement
the "more inside" function, and cram as much as you can
on the front page of your post.
MI is for pussies. Bravo for listing your entire question
on the front page of the green. Bold and innovative! Huzzah...

Make sure it's not MetaFilter, MetaTalk, or Ask MetaFilter related, as those posts would best be posted in MetaTalk than here.
I guess a bolded sentence in the first paragraph on the post page is not enough, huh?
On the other hand, I encourage you to buy some more accounts and pay Matt more money.
Clear your security and zone settings. Make sure the username/password are correct. Try a different browser.

If you were directing that to me, dancingbaptist, then I was not mocking doctordendrite because he was a newbie. I was mocking him because he does not possess minimal reading comprehension skills.

Really, it's the only way they learn when you don't have a lot of time to spend. And as we've probably doubled the active population in a week we really don't have the time. And learn they must or we risk a degrading of the S:N that will make the september that never ended seem like a university lecture.

Apears the problem was that I was not logging out properly, but just closing the browser.
Weird bug, though.
