The US has not tortured. Who says true?

I saw this today: Whitehouse spokesperson denies torture
I am interested in hearing from those of you who DO N0T think that the US tortures or has tortured since 2000, or who are at least skeptical of the claim.
I heard a person today state that they have seen no hard evidence that the US has tortured, and I am curious as to how pervasive this view is.
If you believe the US has NOT tortured (or have seen no evidence to support such a claim), I'm interested in hearing why you think this.
If you think/believe the US HAS tortured, please refrain from posting or commenting on those people who do.
Thanks!
