Searching for Evolution Book

Help me find a book about evolution by Kirchner.
Hi. A biologist friend who walks her dog in my park recommended a book to me about Evolution by someone named Kirchner, or Kirshner, or perhaps Kirschner. I don't remember the first name or the title. Apparently he is a research biologist in some other area, maybe microbiology or genetics, I'm not sure. He decided he didn't know enough about evolution, spent some time studying up on it and wrote a popular science book on the topic. I'm trying to find it out.
Can anyone give me some help? Thanks as always.

Yes, you are looking for Marc Kirschner. He's at the Systems Biology Department at Harvard Medical School, and he's my academic grandfather (i.e. my advisor's advisor.) I haven't read the book myself, but I've heard good things about it.

I believe he is mentioned in this book. I know this isn't what you're looking for, but the section on evolution was fascinating and really changed the way I think about... stuff.
