Point me to video clips of the best parts of the Oscars
February 25, 2008 4:08 PM

I want to watch the Oscars... but just the five or ten minutes of it that are worth watching! (it's never more than five or ten minutes). Where is that set of video clips?

Under non-Jon stewart circumstances, i'd happily forgo them entirely. but sadly he hosted so i have to track down the good stuff. please help me get my jonny stew fix.

Clips were being pulled off of YouTube last night almost as quickly as they went up. Your best bet is probably going to be downloading a torrent and watching with judicious use of the fast-forward button in your media player of choice.

I think more will come online this evening, but here's what hasn't been taken down from YouTube, still:

Big Hollywood CGI opening. Clip from Stewart's monologue, including the Gaydolf Titler bit. Caught playing the Wii coming back from commercial. And the baby goes to... The whole best song saga, including Stewart asking Marketa Irglova back to finish her speech.

Opening Monologue
Playing Wii on the big screen
Making fun of McCain
JS and Travolta
That's what's up on Youtube right now

BBC has some of the best jokes listed, too, and quite a few videos.

I asked this question, more or less, two years ago. The consensus then was Youtube. I doubt things have changed much.

Marion Cotillard choked me up. She was so overwhelmed--so real, so radiant. Great as Édith Piaf, too. And yes, Markéta Irglová invited back to speak. Tonight I watched Once for the second time. Beautiful film.
