This is a very specific, and probably dumb quesiton, about John Bell

WHTZ Z100 filter: What ethnicity is John Bell of the radio station, Z100, in New York?
My girlfriend and I have this small bet on what ethnicity John Bell of Z100 is.
I don't know from where, but I've always heard that he was African-American. However, if you were to just look at his picture, it can be questionable.
I've searched and I can't find any hard evidence of his ethnicity.
Can anyone help clear this cheesy bet up?

If all else fails, you could call the radio station and ask 'em.

Looking at his 'my family' picture SoulOnIce's link is a bit of a giveaway - definately a mixed race family.

Yes, looking at the photos I'd say you'd have to ask Mr. Bell if you want to know how he defines himself. He may not care for "mixed race" as a designation, and just claim to be Black. If so, well, that's his identity (and I suppose you win the bet). As with many questions of ethnicity, this one likely doesn't have a convenient set of pigeonholes.

His MySpace lists ethnicity as "other", so he probably considers himself mixed but doesn't want a label.

I listen to Z100 occasionally, and I've heard Elvis Duran and others refer to John Bell as "black".
