Help me learn about Sikhism

I would like to learn about Sikhism. Recommend a good introductory text on the history and tenets of the faith please. Also, what's the best English translation of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib?

You probably already know this, but Wikipedia's entry could be a good starting point for tracking down sources.

For books, I recommend this one.
