Golf Clubs
May 15, 2004 8:32 PM
I'm looking for a set of decent, inexpensive (under $200.00) golf clubs. I'd like to buy new, and I'll probably use them 2 or 3 times a year. Any recommended brands? Ones to avoid?
your swing is WAAY more important. :-)
Your insistence on buying new is going to keep the best club for the money out of your hands.
ditto.

I'm not a club snob, but I believe that you'll be hard pressed to get quality clubs for $200
this is great advice, pjhagop

Listen to the boys from the MeFi 19th hole. They speak truth!
My advice, if you're only going to use them a few times a year, spend $10 on renting them each time and spend the remaining $170 on a bunch of lessons.
No idea what level you're at but I'm use we could all you a little help!

Also, I don't think you could even buy a "value" set of clubs for $200 - buy used!

Here's an example of some high-quality, inexpensive clubs that a beginner should be able to hit pretty well. You'd have a few bucks left to pick up a decent used driver.

If you're a lefty, let me know and I'll cut you a deal on some "experienced" clubs.

OK - I get it. What brands of used clubs - that I can get as a set for under $200 - should I focus in on?
