Opening ClarisWorks Documents on a PC?

I very much need to open some old ClarisWorks documents on a PC. Unfortunately, I don't have a Mac available on which I could convert the documents for PC use. Any ideas? Thanks!

There's a version of ClarisWorks for the PC that'll do it.

Try Conversions Plus. Or get AppleWorks for Mac and Windows on eBay (example).

I converted a few clarisworks documents for my parents a while back. I was able to open them with my old version of Word (97 I think), converting them into rich-text format.

Apparently Abiword will open these for you.

If Abiword opens them, by all means do that.

The alternative I was going to suggest was just opening the documents in a text editor and pulling out the raw text ... you'd lose all formatting, smart quotes, etc., and might have to do substantial cleanup, but at least you'd have the meat of it.

But the Abiword route is a lot nicer. I'm going to have to try it!
