Does the iPod Nano (2nd generation) work as a mass usb storage device ON MAC? The answers I found suggest it does this only on Windows. Oddly Apple's own specs say nothing about it. But many reviews mention it.

If I had to guess I'd say yes, it would, but if you give me a couple minutes to find mine I'll come back with a definite answer.

Yes, it mounts as a USB mass storage device. You have to make sure that "data storage" is enabled in iTunes, though. But with that turned on you can plug it in, copy files to it, whatever.

Music synching needs to be done through iTunes (or with a 3rd party tool, although that's not really recommended) of course. But yes, you can use it like a thumbdrive if you want.

Yea, it works. I was able to create folders and drag files onto it with no problem on my MacBook.
