Foating Clear Gel Candles. Help!
June 12, 2007 7:39 PM

My wife makes centerpieces for weddings and parties. I am posting here to ask the community's help in locating a product she needs. She is trying to find clear, floating, gel candles. I have searched high and low but have yet to find them. Many places sell gel for making your own candles, and also many places sell colored floating gel candles, but none seem to carry clear gel floating candles. Where can I get these candles for her? She is on a time crunch so if the vendor is in the Los Angeles area, that would be even better.

Here is a picture of the look she is trying to approximate - http://www.wedding-candles.ca/Centerpieces/weddings/Floating-candlesJPG.jpg

She tried ordering from them but they are out of stock. They told her that they are floating candles in water.

Have you tried looking downtown? I bet Moskatels might have something like this. If not them, another floral/bridal/craft store in the same area may.

This
looks more like the picture you linked to. The gel looked like a free form, not really what you would expect in a floatong candle.

Looking at the photo it appears to be floating candle holders, rather than actually floating candles. Regardless, Lazy Susan has great clear floating candles shaped like ice. http://www.lazysusanusa.com/catalog/C_BurnIce.html

you might be able to make them yourself.... candlemaking isn't hard... try a place like michaels, buy the gel/wax, and form with a mold....
