How can I get MetaFilter to work with my Mac?

So I'm new to MeFi and I love it. But all of a sudden, my Mac can't connect anymore!

I actually do know a thing or two about computers, but I don't know where to begin troubleshooting this problem.

I was happily surfing MeFi about a month or two ago (when I first discovered the site) from my Mac. It's a PowerBook 12" 867mhz.

I was able to connect and everything fine. Then, one day it just stopped connecting. Just sits there and eventually says can't connect. But only to MeFi. Other sites are fine.

Here's where I get confused. I have another Mac in the house (a MacBook Core 2 Duo) and a Windows XP machine. The other Mac also can't connect. But the Windows machine can!

I'm able to get through to MeFi if I use a proxy (use anonymouse.org), but that gets annoying due to the popups.

Any ideas on what might be wrong? I registered mainly to ask this question because I love MeFi so much I don't want anything between us.

(I didn't post this to MetaTalk because it's not something to do with the site, per se, more to do with my network or software I think)

Thanks!
