Paris Jazz?

Where are the best places to hear jazz in Paris?
We'll be spending a couple of weeks in Paris (in the 9th and 4th) next month and we'd like to take in some live music. I know of the New Morning — what else is there?

Well, I mean, what do you like?
My hands-down favorite is Le Caveau des Oubliettes. Excellent jazz, played energetically and creatively in the basement of a bar in the 5ème.
It's not fancy, though. It's a basement. Are you looking for fancy? Your use of the word "we" indicates there may be fancy date action afoot...

Fancy isn't an issue. We'll be having the fancy date action elsewhere.
Is Le Caveau des Oubliettes the place with the jive-dancing crowd? We've been there; it was fun and we'll probably go back, but I'm looking for slightly more music-focused (as opposed to dancing- or scene-focused) places.

You might try Le Slow Club on a Wednesday night. It's at 130, rue de Rivoli. Great wine cellar atmosphere and a friendly, mixed crowd.

Sorry rush. I got my Caveaus mixed up. Turns out I was thinking of Le Caveau de la Huchette, not Le Caveau des Oubliettes.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll see how many we can get to and report back in six weeks or so.

I'd like to formally second Le Caveau de la Huchette for quality jazz, if not for romantic atmosphere.

Actually, both are good. For straight jazz, though, I'd stick with Oubliettes. I hope we helped, and can't wait to hear about the fun you will have had.
Cheers!
