simple pleasures...

What are life's simple pleasures?
What makes something a simple pleasure?

My theory is that a simple pleasure is something that can be experienced by the majority of the population of the Earth with little or no additional effort outside their daily routine. For example orgasm, shitting, dreaming. I'm not really looking for anecdotal simple pleasures such as "My cat Fred purring on my lap in a cold Bostonian winter as I drink a particular brand of hot cocoa." But feel free to share anything you feel is relative or illustrative to what you think a simple pleasure is.

Bonus free idea: a website like 43 Things that is about simple pleasures. people add things to their list and then they can be quantified in some way. At least among the English speaking population with internet access.
