Any great book marketing ideas?

Book marketing filter: I'm helping some friends with the release of a humor book. Any great strategies?

They're a sketch group, the book is a catalog parody, though it's a little more absurd and intelligent than most book parodies.

So far, we're doing a podcast that will include PDFs of the book, and I'm pushing to online press that I know from my own radio show/podcast. But what else can we do?

The book is from a major publisher, but that publisher is disinclined to devote much in the way of resources to such an untested idea.

Anyone have a book come out and do anything out of the box that was really succesful? Any big suggestions?

"Catalog parody" as in the book looks and feels like a catalog? Maybe have a website that plays with that idea...a parody of an e-commerce site?

that's a great idea, divabat. And yes, it's a parody of SkyMall, with the same format.
