What colour iPod should I get?

I am intending to order a new 80GB iPod to replace my 4-year old 20GB model. Obviously the important question is: white or black?
This post was deleted for the following reason: if your question has one-word answers, you're probably polling the audience.
A bad motherfucker like John Shaft even gotta ask?

The black gets scratched like a mofo, that's for sure.

That's kind of what I'm worried about. Any other concerns I should be aware of? Does the black one come with black or white earphones?

White.
The black ones get scratched to hell. They also come with the white headphones.

I had a black 60 and it didn't get scratched at all. Same with my black Nano. Buy a case.

You had a white one for 4 years (unless you actually sprang for the U2 edition...?) -- go black. I did the same thing (well, after only 3 years with the 20GB) and I love the change. Seriously.
Also, I haven't seen any scratches.

get a black one and an invisible shield from ShieldZone.com; it looks like it's wearing nothing at all...< /flanders>
(I don't work for them, I just have one and am extremely happy with it)>

I've had my 60gb black for a few months now. I carry it with me basically anytime I leave the house, and it doesn't have any scratches. Granted, I am very careful with it -- my bag even has a custom-made pocket for it. :)
One concern I didn't think of before buying it is the oil from your skin -- it really shows on the black version. To be honest, I haven't ever held a white 'pod before, so I'm not sure if those have the same issue.
But if you buy a case for it (heartily recommended...think of it as a sunk cost, since it really is not an option), you shouldn't have any issues with that.
You will love the extra hard drive space. I couldn't get by with less than 60gb...just think: 80gb is 6000 copies of Mathowie's Community Blog (TM). drool...

Black. End of story. If it scratches, buy a new one. Such are the wages of looking cool.

If this question doesn't get deleted, while "what should I do if someone comes into my classroom with a gun and tries to kill us all?" does, the terrorists have won.

Instead of the invisiblesheild, get one of these.
They are the same thing except a lot cheaper.

ipods are so absolute and lead to small minded dualism based on their color fundamentalism.
Why not let randomness choose for you. Flip a coin?

Buy a black one and a white one, put them both in a pillowcase, whack them against the wall very hard, and when you dump out the contents you'll have a 160GB grey ipod!

White, because when you buy a MacBook to go with it, the black ones are more expensive.

White.
I just bought a white Nintendo DS to go with my 2nd-gen iPod. White still looks good.

I went for black, and I'm picking up one of those bestskinever things to go with it. Until it arrives, I'll just keep it in the cheapo sheath that comes with it. (My friend's black 60g 5G ipod is still scratch free, 6 months after he got it... And he's pretty rough on his gadgets, so it's not THAT hard to keep it pristine.)

If you're going to get a colored semi-translucent silicone case, it'll probably look better with the white iPod. That's the only reason I can think of to go with white.

Mine's black. Goes by the name of Shaft, motherfucker.
He's in a shiny black leather case, so no worries about scratches here.

If you are getting a new ipod, you'll need a case/cover for it simply becuase the screens get scratched way too easily. I got an ISkin for my iPod. Anyway...
I got myself a black ipod, just becuase I was happy to get a different color than white. Plus, I'm a big fan of Black Metal music, thus a Black Metal iPod, (Get it?) :)
Anyway, once I put my iskin on my new ipod, I quickly realized that the color didn't even matter becuase the case comepletely covers everything except for the screen.
But I would still pick black.
