What are your recommendations for five things to eat before you die?
This post was deleted for the following reason: chatfilter
carrots, tomatoes, spinach (sans e.coli), cauliflower, broccholi.
Since we're probably going to die from not having had enough of these things.

here are 5. they are probably not my top 5. I think about food a lot and could probably come up with another 5 tomorrow:
samoan crab (female, for the eggs)
*good/fresh* mirugai/geoduck sashimi
truffle oil mashed potatoes
cardamom ice cream
fresh kumu fish (parupeneus porphyreus)

In no particular order, except #5:
1. Ripe organic cherry tomato off the vine (no rinsing, inhale deeply first, then pop whole into waiting maw)
2. Garlic H&H bagel (must be warm from the water bath, no spread)
3. Mixed fresh-picked berries with cream (if possible, eaten in Finland in midsummer, and including cloudberries)
4. Homemade ice cream, licked from the paddle of a hand-cranked ice cream freezer (preferably peaches-and-heavy-cream flavor)
5. Very last dish: takifugu (liver and all)

*a good Scottish haggis
*a high quality Spanish chorizo with bread and olives
*a Vietnamese pho soup with beef shin bought from a street vendor in Saigon
*pizza bought in a local pizzeria Spaccanapoli in Naples
*an organic, free-range chicken cooked simply with lemon and butter
I know its not always possible to get to the far flung places but if you get there then these are essentials. I feel very hungry just thinking about these!

This may count as a whole lot more than five things, but the omakase at Morimoto is a life-changing experience.

Andouillette. From a proper french bistro cafe, like L'ami Pierre. First time I ordered this in Paris, the waiter gave me a proper interrogation to determine whether, as a foreigner, I knew what I was letting myself in for.
Freshly baked bread with good salty butter and proper homemade jam - rasperry, for me, but I think it's the sweet and salty combination that does it, along with the slight warmness of the bread...
A tagine in Morrocco: lamb and apricot, or prune, but a tagine.
Tom Kha Kai in Thailand (spicy chicken + coconut soup).
Masala Dhosa (south indian vegetarian pancakes). Drummond St. in London (by Euston station) has a number of places that do this - my favourite is the one on the left with rows of wooden tables and benches. Can't remember it's name.

Home-made wholemeal bread, fresh from the oven, slathered with salty butter.
Lobster. With someone you love.
Hummus.
Steak frites and a green salad with vinaigrette.
OK, it's not even 10am here and I'm drooling. But thanks, johnny 7, those lists on the link are inspiring!
