Where to find Thai and Indian wedding resources?

WeddingPlanFilter: I need to buy a birthday present for a friend who is currently planning an Indian-Thai fusion wedding. More inside.

My friend is planning her wedding, and I would like to get her some resources, for her birthday, that could help out. Both cultures notoriously take their weddings very seriously, but I cannot find any books or magazines that could give her ideas for either. All the resources I have found involve poofy white dresses and much icing. They still have not decided whether to have the wedding in Thailand or Michigan. Any ideas?

How about a CD of traditional Thai wedding music?

I did some searching, and came up dry.

Of course, talking to Thai and Indian brides, or mothers of brides, or wedding planners, will be essential.

But as for a gift, why don't you rephrase your ask mefi question to be something like, "tell me about thai or indian wedding traditions," and then if you get good responses, edit them and print them into a scrapbook of sorts and present it to her like that?

That's a cute idea.

The last thing I would want as a birthday gift while planning a wedding is something to do with planning a wedding. It sometimes feels like it consumes your entire life between engagement and the big day, and things like birthdays are a day off from that.
