Small vertical garden flagpole?

Is there such a thing as a small vertical flagpole for a garden flag? Here's the situation: I was thinking I'd like to buy a mini flag for my hometown. I don't see any mini flags on poles for sale with that design. But a number of garden flags are available. So then I thought...is it possible to get a pole for a garden flag? But all I'm finding are horizontal garden flag stands. Does a vertical garden flag–size flagpole exist?

Things I've already thought of: I've searched for this on Amazon and haven't found the right combination of search terms to find this. Anyone have a better search or place to look? Also, I guess I could do something with a dowel rod if need be, but I would need some way to keep the garden flag (which has a pocket along the top to slide onto a garden flag stand) in place, rubber gaskets or something. That might be hard to match up in size with the dowel rod. I know I could also probably order custom mini flags with poles that have the design I want, but it looks like I would have to buy in bulk for that, so I don't really want to do that. I could also just get the garden flag and mount it on the wall with a garden flag wall hanger. But I was hoping to put this in a line of mini flags I have on top of a shelf, and the other two flags are attached to wooden poles.

I would get the appropriate size dowel, slip the flag on, and either staple or glue in place, depending on dowel thickness.

If you prefer not to make something yourself, sounds like a great custom job for a handy person! Are you in an urban area or nearby a tech-oriented school of any kind? Do you have anyone on the “Handy” app that’s near you? Know any junior tradespeople who might want a few extra bucks and have access to the right kind of tools and materials for this.

I had a broken patio umbrella. Removed umbrella struts, kept it in a stand, mounted my earth flag on it. Works great. A decent hardware store will help you out.

We have a flagpole holder attached to our garage. We have 1 flag that came with the house that has a 1in diameter dowel rod. Presumably I could take the flag off and put on another. This was a thing in my parents demographic for awhile, but I think other garden decor has become more popular.

If you have a structure you could put it on, this is the sort of thing we have.

ocherdraco's solution might be the closest so far. I could probably staple a flag like this. For what it would cost to hire someone or get a garden flag wall hanger, I could get a bunch of dowel rods, then use the rest for wall hangings, heh. Just have to figure out where I put my stapler...

Get a dowel big enough to drill through, and do so just above and below where you want the flag to be. Thread a long string through the pocket of the flag, then put one end of the string through the lower hole on the dowel. Put the flag on the dowel, string still inside, then thread the top end of the string through the top dowel hole. Tie the string in a snug loop, such that one half the loop is inside the flag pocket and the other half is outside it, running along the dowel. Bonus: if the flag sags, which it probably will, use that stapler on the top part of the flag the string goes through to anchor it. Or go back a few steps and sew the flag along the length of the string if you'd like a tidier effect.
