What was this song about Ringo Starr?
July 6, 2024 8:17 AM

I was listening to the Beatles channel on Sirius yesterday, and they played a song about Ringo Starr. I would like to know what song it was, but I can't find it. It is not listed on the Wikipedia page "Songs about Ringo Starr."

Aside from the Wikipedia page, when I search, I'm only finding songs by Ringo.

This definitely sounded like a 60s song. It was from the point of view of a young man whose girl is enamored of Ringo, so he tries to be more like him. But at the end of the song, she switches over to the Rolling Stones. I believe the song title was two words, with the first word being "Ringo." The name "Ringo" was spoken periodically throughout the song in a weird voice.

Anybody?

Like Ringo
One Friday night, to have a
ball,
I took my girl to the
music hall
The crowd was lined for
blocks around,
the night them four boys came to
town

As we sat in that mammoth
place,
I saw the look upon her face
As she screamed, I boiled
with rage,
her heart was up there on the stage with

(Chorus)
Ringo
Ringo (Ringo)
Ringo (Ringo)

Man, what is it with this
girl of mine,
until that night our love was fine
Now I call her on the phone,
she says she'd rather be
alone
She listens to her Hi-Fi set,
and digs that guy she never met
My picture stood beside her
bed,
now a new one's there
instead, it's

Ringo
