Which pull out couch should I buy?

I'm looking for a pull out couch to use when my family has guests over. A Queen size mattress is ideal. Do you have one you've used and can recommend? Thanks!

I am obsessed with my couch. The center part pulls out and up so you don't have to jostle a whole bunch of cushions around or unfold a heavy mattress platform. You can store all your spare bedding in the chaise.

Importantly, it allows me to turn MY ENTIRE LIVING ROOM into a couch whenever I want in literally seconds.

American Leather fold outs seem to be the best in the business for actual sleeping comfort. If you have space for a sectional like phunniemee linked I think those are even better comfort wise, but they don't work in all the spaces where a couch works.

Whichever one you get, you can always put the mattress on the floor and have people sleep on that. Then you don't have that issue with the bars in the frame making it uncomfortable. I just consider fold out couches to be mattress storage containers, not something you'd really sleep on (although I know it can be hard to get up from the floor for some folks so that might not work.)

We got an American Leather years ago when we were living in a one bedroom apartment with our (then) baby who refused to sleep for longer than 30 minutes if she was in the same room as her mom, and used it as our full time bed for about a year. I've slept on a variety of pull-out couches over the years and the bed in our couch is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of comfort. It's our guest bedroom bed now, and guests routinely sing its praises.

La Z Boy makes sleeper sofas with a built in air mattress topper. My aunt has one that I've slept on several times and it's super comfy.

Came here to second American Leather. It’s so comfortable, we bought my mom one for when we’re there as well.

We got a sleeper sofa from crate and barrel over a decade ago and it's still going strong. It's not perfect, like the padding in the arms is gone, it rubs on the floor when you open and close it. But folks regularly, and repeatedly, use it - it still works great as both a couch and sleeping spot. And it has held up to kids and dogs and it's even been moved a couple of times.. It was very well reviewed at the time for its design that omitted that back breaking bar.

The new version still cost around 2 grand, and ours took about 3 weeks to get to us. Now they appear to be taking around 6 weeks.

We also have one from Crate and Barrel (the Willow, which is still available) and it's very comfortable as a couch and a bed. I will say that it's held up less well aesthetically -- it gets pretty mushy-looking if you don't fluff the cushions regularly -- but as long as you don't mind a lived-in look it's great. AND the cover is removable and machine washable, which is awesome if your guests (or day-to-day) include kids or pets.

Innovation makes excellent queen size inner-spring sleeper sofas.

We also have an American Leather Comfort sleeper, for nearly ten year now and we use it regularly. It's held up very well, and does not sag in the slightest. Sometimes I find the horizontal grooves in the mattress distracting if I'm having trouble sleeping, so I prefer to use a mattress pad on it.
