Seeking certain sock solutions

This is for a Christmas gift.

I am looking for women's socks that are:
- very soft and non-itchy
- for ordinary daily wear, not hiking/skiing/etc.
- preferably without a toe seam
- crew to calf length
- in colors other than black, white, or navy but nothing too outre.

I've been looking at Bombas and they look like nice socks but the color schema are a little on the far end of what the gift recipient will be comfortable with. Anybody have suggestions?

Not sure if these will meet all of your criteria (esp. no toe seam) but I enjoy Pact socks. Alternatively, Sock Dreams can be searched by length, color, size, fiber type, etc.

Best answer: The Bombas merino wool blend calf socks are my every day wearing sock in winter and meet all the specifications. Bombas will also replace them for free when they wear out (after wearing a hole into a pair in my favorite color after a couple of years, I just received a free replacement).

SmartWool socks have always served me well. Perhaps some in this search.

I wear these Enerwear wool socks year-round. They are soft & comfortable & have held up well. Costco often has a rebranded version of them around November/December.

I came here to recommend Bombas. They're all I've used for the past... 7 years? It feels like longer but I'm not sure.

Just checking their website as they usually have a selection of colours from very plain to way out there. I see greys, and black and white and then other patterns...

They are amazing socks.

Just make sure you get the size right though, I once accidentally bought a set of mediums instead of large and... 1 year later they still haven't stretched to fit my feet. :)

My sister loved the socks from Wollow. In my opinion, they tend to run a bit small - i.e. I needed to size up for my wide feet with bunions. She had no issues with her narrower feet.

These Columbia socks have arch support and are similar to Bombas for less than half the price. I've had some for about 10 years now and they've held up really well, no holes.

Another vote for Bombas, but in the quarter sock length. They come in non-wild colors.

Response by poster: Thank you for all the suggestions! I ended up getting a 4-pack of the Bombas calf socks in bright-but-not-too-crazy colors. They are a big hit.
