Relocating a record from earlier this century

I’m trying to relocate a record that came out prior to 2017. A coworker introduced me to an alt-country, indie, alternative etc. record in 2016. Something along the lines of Kurt Vile, Lord Huron, Father John Misty, etc. I’m pretty sure it was an album of covers, but if so they were all obscure to me. The album cover art was very distinctive and that I think I do remember.

As I recall the album art was (presumably) a photograph of the (male) artist from the mid -torso up. They were holding a guitar, wearing a (I think white) cowboy hat, and the whole thing was mostly lit by a string of white lights around their neck and the guitar. They were facing slightly to the side. I think maybe they were outside at twilight. I had thought it must have come out in 2015 or 2016 but I couldn’t find it on Wikipedia’s lists so it may have been earlier. I’m virtually certain it could not have been later than 2016 or maybe 2017 as the coworker and I mostly lost touch after then.

I’m guessing someone will instantly know this. I vaguely remember that maybe this record was something of a departure from the artist’s usual work?
