Recovering data from broken cell phone

Is there any way to recover the data from my broken cellphone?

I took my cellphone (Samsung Galaxy A32) into a repair shop for what I thought was broken / unresponsive screen. When I returned to the repair shop, the technician said when he opened it up to examine it, he could immediately tell it could not be repaired, due to a board issue. He said there was damage to the LCD connector. The phone would not turn on at that point.

Is there anything I can do on my own to try to connect the the phone to PC and recover the data? I'm not averse to buying some equipment or tools to open it up and attempting this myself. If it is a lost cause, I'm prepared to accept that fact. Thanks in advance for any advice or insights.

If phone definitely won't turn on -- this won't work. If there is a possibility that it's turning on but you can't tell because screen is black then you could try using a USB C dongle. (I've explained it in more detail in a previous answer here.)
