Transferring game progress from Android tablet to iPad
May 11, 2023 9:38 AM
My wife is currently using an old Samsung tablet at the end of its life. She is quite far in a game she likes, "Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells," along with other games, too. Looking around at reviews and prices, she may decide to go with an iPad as a replacement. Can she transfer her game progress to an iPad?
From the Apple site, there is a way to transfer content from an Android device. However, under the "Choose your content and wait" section, it only lists apps as transferrable, rather than app data. Has anyone here managed to successfully migrate game progress? If so, any pointers would be great!
Related: If it not possible to transfer the game progress, she will likely stick with Android. If that is indeed the case, how does one transfer game progress between Androids? The last time I switched phones, it transferred my photos, files, and some of the apps, but not any progress.
Thanks!

There's no one answer that will apply to all games. Some games store progress locally on your device, some store stuff in your google play account, others have their own cloud save mechanism. Many games offer some or all of these options. So rather than looking for a generic Android to Apple tool you'll want to focus on how each specific game stores its progress, and then even more specifically how your wife in particular is setup.
And for each app you'll also need to double check that the game is even available on Apple devices.
This help page indicates Harry Potter P & S does have multiple options for cloud syncing and explains each option.
