How to research U.S. Individual Health Ins. Appointments (For Brokers)
March 10, 2023 8:59 AM

My employer gave me this task and I have a feeling I could be doing better

My task right now is to research how to get appointed for Various Health Insurances throughout the U.S. My employer is starting a new business where they have agents selling individual and family health insurance. They are already licensed in every state except for Georgia and Maryland. Now I guess they just need to sign up to each Insurance company to get appointed with them so that they can sell.

Is there a more concrete way of me doing this other than googling: "Getting Appointed with U.S. Health Insurances" Because right now I'm only coming up with things like this

I mean- I'd like to just fill out whatever info forms I can so that they can simply reply to my employer... but right now I feel like I just have random links like this to send my boss.

I work for an insurance carrier in a non-health field (annuities) and they have a link for financial professionals to contact them so they can be appointed with that company!

In your example, I found https://www.uhcexchange.com/agents through scrolling down to the "Prospective ACA" agents page. You can see if the carriers your company works with have a sales desk (for products) or a licensing & contracting desk (for appointing producers with that carrier).

I'm a little biased (grins) but you may have better success looking for "licensing" "contracting" "prospective agents" or just seeing if they have a licensing & contracting box to email!
