Is there a good way to use up sweet coffee creamer?
February 22, 2023 5:27 PM
After hosting guests, I find myself with two bottles of Coffee-mate Italian Sweet Creme creamer. I...do not care for it in my coffee. Can you think of any recipes (or honestly, any purpose at all) where these could be put to good use? I'm a capable cook/baker. Please note that "creamer" *is not cream.*
I would add it to plain oatmeal instead of part of the water (maybe 1/3 creamer, 2/3 water)

I use it instead of sugar in my coffee. A splash of 1/2 & 1/2 and a little creamer - it's too sweet on its own. Might be simplest to give it away.

Believe it or not, it can kinda be used like a sweet cream. I've used it in french toast quite successfully...

Could you try making something like chocolate pudding with it maybe? Pairing it with something else to cover the flavor?

Mixed drinks like white Russians, fake low budget Thai iced tea. Honestly I would either bin it or take it to the office if you work in the kind of office where anyone might use it.

If it's not opened, give it to a church that hosts meals for the needy or AA / etc meetings.

that stuff is so unhealthy. if you don't enjoy it in your coffee don't force yourself to consume it.

It has quite a bit of sugar in it, right?
I’m 90% sure you could boil unopened bottles of it until they carmelized into a sweet, pale brown dessert sauce.

The first three ingredients are water, sugar and coconut oil. Find sweet recipes that use coconut oil and reduce the sugar in them - should work great. Or decently.

I have used up some in pancake recipes by substituting it for half the milk/liquid and letting the teens know the flavor of the day.

I had some ice cream that I had made 'not sweet enough'. I put a thick layer of a similar liquid creamer (International Delight actually) on it and stuck it back in the freezer, and the frozen creamer was great as a sort of frosting for the ice cream.

I like Italian sweet cream creamer to moisten cakes, apple crisp, that kind of stuff.

Moistened baked goods is what I agree with
(Soooo unhealthy? Not really. It's not made of much nastiness and you don't use much.)

I once worked at a winter venue that used it in the place of milk to make hot chocolate. It was very popular hot chocolate.

Someone on a podcast recently mentioned that their parents would add it to scrambled eggs when growing up. She said it was good in the way that getting a little bit of maple syrup on your eggs is good. I personally can't even.

I hate food waste but unless I could give it away, I'd throw it away. That stuff is vile.
