Artists selling postcard packs?
January 17, 2023 2:39 PM

In search of artists who sell postcards or postcard-sized prints of their art for under $30 or so. Extra bonus if they sell sets of multiple different pieces in postcard format!

In a fit of pre-spring cleaning I culled a bunch of posters and art off of my walls and then realized I don't have enough new art to replace it with! I have a lot of larger items I'm keeping up, but have always filled in the spaces in between with postcard-sized bits of art or photos. Last year for Christmas I bought myself postcard/sticker packs from Jacob Van Loon and Casey Weldon via Instagram and would love to find more artists selling their art this way.

I'm open to most art styles, but my decorating tastes skew bright and colorful. I love classical rich oil portraits and landscapes, abstract neons, kitschy erotic art, stark black and white photography, but really anything that I'm not going to find at Ikea. I like to change the walls around frequently, so getting 4-6 postcards for $30 or less allows me to give a little support to an artist but also not invest too much in something I might not keep up for long.

Any artists I should check out?

I live near NYC Chinatown and my local coffee shop is featuring a local artist, Peach Tao. I really like her art - colorful with animals. They sell postcards at the coffee shop. Sadly, Peach's online store doesn't have postcards but prints for $20. I like Little Red Riding Hood and Lemon Bike.

If you are ever in NYC Chinatown, check out her murals which are really wonderful. My son loves the tiger and rabbit serving a meal to a black cat.

Her website is here.

I discovered Megan Marie Myers in a coffee shop in Bend Oregon, and since I'm traveling indefinitely and could not buy one of the prints there, I picked up postcards and a travel journal with removable postcards in the back.

You might like Stasia Burrington's work. (Her shop is on a short break at the moment.)

I wish she had a postcard pack as the calendar pages are probably too big for your needs (and the preview images on the back cover would probably be too small), but just in case.

I like this artist’s 5x7 folk arts prints, but they’re $15 each, so you’d only get 2 for $30, not 4-6

This artist has greeting cards, though not postcards.

If you're interested, I can mail you 4-6 botanical drawings in color from the New York Botanical Garden for a donation to a non-profit.

Just to clarify, it's ok if they're not actual postcards, just looking for that smaller size format. These suggestions so far are fantastic!! Keep 'em coming if you've got more!

The late Charley Harper's studio has two books of postcards, one of various animals and one of just birds.

If you like linocuts, Ken Swanson provides many of his designs in the smaller format. Some of his work is very whimsical and I've always loved the quality and originality of his work. (Full disclosure: Mr. DrGail and I own two of his linocuts.)

Yeah, was gonna also mention MoMA, and I imagine the Met and MFA too, but smaller museums also have them; bought a couple from the Dulwich Picture Gallery's Ciurlionis exhibition last fall.
