What is the best way to read illustrated epub books?
January 9, 2023 5:53 AM

I find it difficult to browse epub books, especially illustrated ones, as it can be difficult to browse to the images. I have been using Apple books, but is there a better app for this? When using PDFs, I often go to a mode with thumbnails to jump back to an image. I am guessing that similar functionality is what I want with epub books. Also, is there any great software to annotate epub books? Any insight would be most appreciated.

Marvin 3 is what I use for epubs on iOS. It is not being developed any longer but the images are available in the Contents menu. There you can get to the Table of Contents, Bookmarks, Annotationsm and the list of images. I believe there is a limited free trial so you can try it out.

From the same developer is Gerty which is more a book journal. Even though it has not been developed for awhile Marvin 3 and the Marvin 3 side to side versions are still my preferred epub and cbr readers.
