Please recommend anime or anime-adjacent Science Fiction slice-of-life shows. Nothing too sexist, ecchi, or militaristic, please.

The ARIA series is the pinnacle of what you're looking for. It's set on a terraformed Mars in the 24th century, and is probably the most relaxing slice of life anime ever made.

Three seasons, two OVAs, and two movies.

NieA_7 is a funny and sad series about space aliens stranded on Earth and just trying to fit in. It has an excellent ukulele soundtrack, BTW.

Seconding Planetes. It's about working-class astronauts tasked with cleaning up orbital debris, among other concerns of humanity's expanding into the rest of the solar system.

I suppose they're pre-anime but The Jetsons! Matt Novak did a deep dive into them in The Jetsons at 50 at the Smithsonian.

Came here to say Planetes too. That's pretty much the ur-example of what you're after.

There's also Space Brothers, which is nearer-future, maybe not as sci-fi as you want. I didn't finish it due to life (not due to any problem with the show). It's about a guy who is accepted into JAXA astronaut training, and tries to live up to the reputation of his older brother, already an accomplished astronaut. Very slice-of-life in what I saw.

You may enjoy Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken, which is a slice of life anime about students creating a scifi anime.

Also, Carol and Tuesday might be of interest - it's a anime about two girls trying to make is as musicians that happens to be set in space. There is a bit of political xenophobia going on in the background, with the takeaway about music being able to bring people together.

I'm not sure if it entirely qualifies as slice of life but the Bodacious Space Pirates anime TV series from 2012 is actually pretty entertaining. In spite of being based on a light novel series called Miniskirt Space Pirates and centering around high school girls in space, the show isn't really sexualized (no panty shots at all from what I remember, and pretty minimal fanservice) and actually subverts a surprising number of gender norms and expectations. It's an odd mix of sci-fi action and adventure combined with relatively standard high school scenarios, and if you're willing to suspend your disbelief it's a fun couple of seasons.

A bit out of left field, but you might enjoy Sound of the Sky. It's a slice-of-life anime about a group of girls who are living on a tiny military outpost in a world where technology has regressed after a devastating technological war -- but it's anti-war rather than militaristic.

Most of the episodes are very cozy and focus on mundane details of daily life, on interactions with townsfolk who are trying to live peacefully in community. Its been a while since I watched it, but the worldbuilding seemed to imply much about how war disrupts lives and how valuable domesticity and taking care of others are.
