Flonse Side Effects

Do you take or have taken Flonase? Have you ever gotten little white heads in your nose? Might they be related?

I'm going to send a message to my doctor about this. However, I'm curious if it's happened to anyone else? They are not white patches like thrush (which can be a Flonase SE). They are quite painful. They get better slowly if I stop using the Flonase.

Yes, no I haven't, and I would definitely stop using flonase if it seems to cause this.

I've used Flonase off and on since the 1990s and have never had this happen.

One of the listed possible side effects of Flonase is "sores or white patches inside or around your nose."

I use Flonase daily.

I did once have a whitehead inside my nose, but that was before I started using the Flonase.

I've used flonase daily for at least 2 years now I think. I've had maybe 5 whiteheads in my nose throughout my life; none while using flonase, and never clusters. During the winter when the air is dry about 66% of the time when I blow my nose in the morning there's some blood. In the winter pre-flonase that was about 33% of the time. The increased chance of seeing blood in the morning is the only side effect I've noticed.

This could be the result of an allergy to an ingredient in the Flonase.

I messaged the doc but haven't heard back from him yet. I'm not going to use the Flonase anymore ever. It helps, but I hate the pain inside my nose.

Yes, Yes, Yes! I literally just talked to my allergist about this yesterday! I get these any time I use Flonase (or prescription versions of Flonase) more than a couple days in a row. She thought my “angle of spray” might be incorrect and recommended angling in more diagonally, but then also gave me a prescription to try Azelastine spray instead to see if that causes the same issue. My nose bumps always went away after 3-4 days but we’re super painful in the meantime. Good luck finding an alternative that works!!
