Wedding-appropriate flats?

What would be good outdoor-wedding appropriate flats to wear with my dress?

I have an outdoor wedding to attend in early May and I'm wearing this dress. I just realized I don't have any appropriate shoes to wear with it. (I pretty much live in casual flats/boots/sneakers for work).

The wedding is in a local park. What would be fairly comfy, but suitable flats to wear? I really don't do well with heels for any extended length of time.

Thanks all!

That's already a pretty informal outfit, so assuming you've judged the tone of the event correctly, some delicate strappy flat sandals would work.

Rothys are very comfy and come in navy. (I also was planning to sell a pair of barely-worn Frye Carson ballet flats in navy...feel free to memail me if you have any interest and want to see if they're your size!)

If they must absolutely be flats, try ballet flats in maybe a rust-orange or red (or yellow or light blue - pulling out colors from the dress). I have some inexpensive strappy orange/rust shoes with a quite low heel (the styling is vintage ish -they were from
Modcloth) that I wear with a navy dress and I always get compliments on them. I feel like if you wear simple shoes in a bright color, they read fancier. But you could go a more neutral color like bone or navy, but I feel like you need a nicer/better shoe.

Target has some cheap orange ballet flats right now if you can find them in your size.

Best answer: Could you wear a wedge? It won’t be dainty but will up the formality. (Magically! I don’t make the rules.)

I think a flat with a pointed toe might be nice. These Rothy’s look nice and come in a few shades of red.

If you're in the US, DSW is going to have a ton of flat sandals of varying levels of embellishment that will all be appropriate for an informal spring wedding in a park. Get a pedicure beforehand and you'll be good to go.

I love the dress and think that red Rothys would be great.

You want d'orsay flats with a pointed toe in a pretty colour that coordinates with your dress. Basically d'orsay just means that the foot isn't full coverage-there are "cutouts" on either or both sides along the foot. They look more dressy than a full coverage shoe and the pointed toe will also elevate them a bit more than a round toe style or sandals. They also have a sort of 50s vibe which will go well with your dress.

Just make sure they don't come off when you walk- I have high arches and this is always a problem for me with these kinds of shoes. I need either a very flexible sole and a slightly tight fit or an ankle strap.

Best answer: Just want to say that I don't like the judgmental tone in some of these comments. It's a lovely dressy dress, and of course you should wear flats!
I love my Rothys but they are expensive so if you're not likely to wear them again, I'd suggest a trip to DSW as mentioned above.

Best answer: Strappy sandals in white or gold or silver (match your jewelry.) Pedicure to match the dress.

(Admitted prejudice: I hate pointed toes, and find closed toe flats to be sweaty.)

Response by poster: So, I actually discovered a pair of silver strappy wedge sandals in my closet that I forgot I had, that would work great with the dress! Haha.

Thanks everyone!
