How to keep up with (esp. freelance) journalists?
January 30, 2022 1:01 PM

I keep running into specific writers whose pieces I’d like to keep up with, but many sites don’t have author RSS (which only would work for writers affiliated with a specific site anyway), and I guess Muckrack’s article lists don’t have RSS either (unless that’s a paid feature). Hoping someone out there has found a tool for this, or some ideas.

(In my case, FWIW, social media accounts are not the answer, as I don’t want a flood of content, just links to what they’ve been writing.)

Setting up Google News alerts for their name works, though if they have common names you'll get some irrelevant alerts.

You say social media isn’t the answer, but I can tell you that for me, I follow my favorite freelancers on Twitter because they will promote each of the articles they publish regardless of what site is running them.
