Lost CD

A few years ago, a CD came out by some male musical artist whose album was a throwback to the 80s. The cover of the CD has a futuristic car with a Def Leppard cassette tape in it. I always planned to buy this CD some time, and a few of the songs I liked from the CD were on YouTube, but alas, they got taken down. And I cannot remember the name of the artist to Google the name of the CD. Does anyone know the CD I am thinking of?

I think I read the original review of this CD in Goldmine magazine, FWIW.

Response by poster: Very Def Leppard - esque. Sort of a throwback album.

Was it Wolf Club?

I can't see any album covers that look quite like you describe, but is it Steel Panther by chance? Very much a throwback to the hair bands with very much NSFW lyrics.

Response by poster: It was a single artist - I think guitarist. It wasn’t a group.

Was this in the 2010s? Or prior to that?

Response by poster: Newer than 2010. I think 2017 or 2018 but am not positive.

If you're positive about the Goldmine bit, either looking at their reviews archive or doing some targeted googling (try the string 'site:goldminemag.com' plus some keywords, limit by year) might be fruitful.

Do you remember any lyrics, if there were lyrics?

Response by poster: The first song, I thought, was something like “Left in the Summer”, but when I google that, I get songs by other artists.

Best answer: Could it be this?? Backwards Compatible, Chris Church

Best answer: FWIW, Goldmine reviewed it (in 2021, though).
