ISO your favorite funny videos
October 19, 2020 3:39 PM

I’m seriously needing funny videos to help me out of a mental funk.

Links to funny animals, humans, comedy, animation, nature gone rogue, photos, BRING IT, PLEASE.

Some terribly stressful items are on my plate and in need of comic relief that isn’t too time consuming, maybe 15 minutes max.

In hopes that cats playing pattycake will provide a lift: Dansons la Capucine. Poom!

My go-tos: Goats yelling like humans part 1 part 2

I don't know why these are so pants-peeingly funny to me, but the skateboarding video game Skate 3 is legendary for its completely absurd and often painful-looking glitches and odd behavior. Here's the first compilation and you can just keep going from there.

Dansons la capucine

I like the SaveAFox channel in general - she often films POV so you feel like you're petting/playing/giving treats to the foxes, which is very satisfying - but recently she posted a video of resident mink Atlas playing in her makeup drawers that was especially fun.

Here is a link to my Pinterest page for funny stuff. I've been collecting for a number of years. YMMV.

Watching games being played terribly wrong in creative ways always lifts my mood.

A couple of standouts:

Planet Coaster
The Sims 4

Parade is a ballet with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet.

But this video of a sequence where a pantomime horse dances with no music so you can hear his clippity-clop dance steps never fails to make me giggle uncontrollably. Horse comes in at 1:30

My all time favorite video is the one of the little kids arguing about whether it's raining or sprinkling, punctuated by a poke to the heart.

Google "falls off pullup bar" and you get a dozen of these, all excellent...

Guy wearing towel falls off pull-up bar (no injury, just bruised pride)

The great thing about these is that no one falls more than about three feet, they're frequently in the midst of some preposterously vain moment and the videos are usually about five seconds longer than you expect so you're not quite ready when things go to pieces.

It's a commercial, but only mentions the product in the last second or so, and there's a cat, dogs, and music by Queen. I love it: Be More Dog

When I need to laugh at ridiculous nonsense, I really love the PubLIZity sketches from the Kroll show. I've never seen the Kroll show in its entirety but these clips are Nick Kroll and Jenny Slate as a pair of twentysomething women named Liz (poorly) running a publicity business. Each sketch is less than five minutes but I put them on autoplay and watch a few at a time.
