beautiful bath or beach towels
July 8, 2020 4:57 AM
I recently realized I want brighter accesssories to draw attention away from my bathroom's ugliness. Specifically, I'm looking for really beautiful towels (bath or beach, but definitely large). Pop art designs, interesting weaves, whatever. I would prefer them to be ethically made. Thank you!
Turkish towels from STATE
But damn, those Gudrun Sjoden towels are perfect.

The Company Store has some amazing towel designs and here is one of the newer options. Not sure about how they are produced.

I think these beach towels are incredibly beautiful. They are from Eighth Generation and designed by indigenous artists. I don't own one so can't comment on how they are in real life.

Society6 makes art print towels and other goods and claims to pay its global designers for every purchase. I think their stuff is just beautiful.

Art Ware Editions commissions very fancy artists to make actual consumer goods, i am weirdly into the John Currin, but they are very pricey. https://artwareeditions.com/collections/towels

They may or may not match your aesthetic, but Pendleton makes some very nice (and large) towels.

They have some info on their site -- their practices sound better than a lot of companies.

I can vouch for these.
They are especially nice in the summer when other towels start to get that mildewy smell within half an hour of use.
I wish they made dresses. I would be all over that.
It seems like they'd be ethically made but it is genuinely hard to tell.

I love this question as I dream a lot about textiles! Enjoying looking at the suggestions so far and here are two from me:
Lots of cool design options in the Scandinavian/Nordic direction. Here's Finnish Design Shop.
There are also a lot of vivid, cheery styles at Amara.
