Can I open Nokia Phone copier files on my computer?

Is it possible to open the content (.nfc or .nfb) of a Nokia Content Copier file on my computer?
I've lost my phone and it will take a while to get a new one. In the mean time I've been backing up my phone using Nokia's content copier. Is it possible to open them to read the contents and allow me to regain my life in my phoneless state?

This may seem like a silly question but have you downloaded and installed Nokia PC Suite? It looks like it lets you manage your phonebook and messages pretty easily.

There is a Perl module based on some Python code, but it doesn't look like anyone's turned these into an application. It looks like it'll just extract files; not neccessarily individual contacts or similar.
