Defining "life-changing event" in whatever way seems sensible to you,* roughly how frequently, on average, have you experienced life-changing events in your life so far?

E.g., if you're 50 and you can think of ten events that qualify, your answer is "every five years," even if three of them happened in the same year.

I'm not interested in which events you're counting, though if you want to get specific about them I can't stop you.

*(Though when in doubt as to whether something qualifies, please err on the side of fewer events. Also, exclude your own birth.)

I'm 41 and have had 4. That's not including things like graduating college or buying a house that kind of were in the course of things.

There's a lot of fuzziness in this answer as I talked myself into and out of various definitions of "life-changing" but I think I'm going to say it's every 13 years, on average.
