Lady shoes advice
March 9, 2018 8:25 PM
I am a woman. I have a seersucker pantsuit. What shoes should I wear with it?
Nothing I have looks right. I’m keeping this intentionally wide open. All thoughts welcome!
Thanks.

I'd wear nude, strappy heels if I could walk in them. If not, shiny peep-toe flats in a neutral color.

Assuming it's the traditional light blue/white, I think you could do any of the following:
pointy-toed, block-heel pump in navy (would also work in primary red)
wingtip Oxford in light tan
penny loafer in navy (would also work in oxblood)

Saltwater sandals or tan oxfords (without socks if that's comfy) or loafers. It's a casual, comfortable suit fabric, don't go too dressy.

Omg black heels like the Robert Palmer girls. Hem the pants a little high.

Or black and white spats? Just Google "Tilda swinton shoes"
So many options

I'd say it depends on the cut of the suit. Also, what's the weather? I'd do oxfords /brogues in brown (camel or darker, depending on the hue of the suit and shoes). Chelsea boots might also look smart, if a little less femme.

Oxfords (e.g. Cole Haan) or chunky sandals (another Cole Haan example).
I agree with going with a slightly more casual shoe because of the nature of the fabric.

I like the idea of chucks. Or maybe Stan Smiths and channel your inner Phoebe Philo/Ellen (both Paige and Degeneres)

Depends on the cut of the trouser, but I'd also suggest wingtippy oxfords in a light color, or a slightly pointy loafer like these.

Spectator shoes if you want to play up the old-fashioned look -- either navy or brown or, wow, red --
Or Keds or similar canvas shoes if you want to play up the cool, summery, relaxed part with modern cool, summery, relaxed shoes. Also possibly wow, red!

Seconding spectators. Those and/or white bucks are the "right" answer. Added bonus: comfortable!
